The blogosphere is all abuzz with the announcement and teaser trailer for the new Ironman movie, scheduled to be released May 2nd, 2008 by first timer indie studio Marvel. For those who are a fan of the original Marvel Comic hero, the plot has been slightly update to reflect the latest War on Terror sentiments.
Since 1963, Ironman has been on the cutting edge of robotic exoskeleton technologies, not to mention lethal weaponry. The teaser (available only at apple.com) for the the new movie doesn’t look to disappoint on those fronts.
Here’s the plot summary from wikipedia:
Weapons designer Tony Stark is in Afghanistan to introduce his new missile design when the army unit he is traveling with is attacked and Stark is taken hostage. Injured with a fragment of shrapnel embedded near his heart, his captors order him to assemble a missile for them, giving him access to a workshop. He puts his creativity to use by assembling a bulletproof set of armor, complete with pacemaker and flamethrowers, and uses it to free himself.[2] Back at home, he becomes Iron Man, developing a flying suit with the red and gold scheme and advanced weapon capabilities.[3] Stark faces the Iron Monger.[1]
