A Haunting Epic Romantic Adventure that left me speechless with it`s perfection. “The Spanish Rose” has everything i love in a Romance novel, its a Keeper that deserves more than Millions of stars. Its a long book with almost 500 pages, but trust me: it`s so worth it!
It has everything i could possible imagine in a Historical Romance. Shirlee Busbee is a Masterful writer in her own class..she creates the best flaming Romantic Tales- with addicting plot, interesting vendetta between two families, A Haunting Epic Romantic Adventure that left me speechless with it`s perfection. “The Spanish Rose” has everything i love in a Romance novel, its a Keeper that deserves more than Millions of stars. Set in the middle of 1600s it must have been a very barbaric time with the war between englishmen and spaniards hovering over the seas-the famous feud between the english Lancasters and the spanish Delgatos that started many generations ago when Francisco Delgato kidnapped the beautiful Faith Lancaster and made her a unwilling mistress. Their brothers had killed each other to the death, and even so when Francisco had married Faith- the war still went on between the two families,and the Lancastres never forgot the insult.Til the present the saphire blue Lancaster eyes the heroine Maria Delgato have inherited she rebels against her older brother who has become her guardian after her parents died. He wants to force marriage upon her and she wants none of that. In another ship our hero, the emerald-eyed Gabriel Lancaster are on a ship with his young pregnant bride and sister full of dreams and hopes of the future. But a brutal attack to the ship causes Gabriel`s wife to die and with grief and rage he gets forced to surrender to Diego Delgato, Marias brother. The man whose father killed his father.His sister Caroline gets captured by Diegos cousin Ramon. Its then,that moment,he steps on their ship with chains around him that he sees Maria overboard over him. The vengance that always been on his blood ravages him to the core as he makes a vow to never again get defated by a Delgato,and that he would kill Diego. But little did both of them know, while they stared at each other. that they both would fall at their knees at the love so passionate,so consuming and painful..would make their love the greatest of all time!
e to adore! She was so stubborn and full of pride, and denied Gabriel of any affection towards her. She willed him to hate her and let the old vendetta become a barrier against both of them. But she could never resist him, and the love-scenes with the both of them are so FREAKING BLAZING SPICY! Yeah they were so hot in bed that it actually became a little traumatic for me to read it, Gabriel is a one of a hell sexy lover in bed AND out of it (smirk).Jeezuz how i envied e to admire her spirited nature and every time she called Gabriel “Englishman” i just giggled, as she also called him “her Englishman” in her mind.
Gabriel Lancaster is a dream that every woman wish for herself. He is a noble man despite his attentions of being opposite towards Maria-and i just simply love him for it. He always reminded me of a restless Tiger in the way he fought against the enemy on battlefields. With a fearless smile on his face, his dark-wild hair,emerald eyes and the wicked silver earring on his one ear-he made one hell of a sexy imagination of a hero! Ever since he enslaved Maria, he never behaved toward her like she were a slave, he simply couldn`t. instead he worships her the first night they make love, he teases her, he adore her,being extremely possessive of her. while he hates himself for forgetting her to be a Delgato and falling irresistibly in love with her himself. He has never been in love with a woman before, not even his own wife who now is dead. But the bitter words of another woman who hurled words in his face are ones that always comes to his mind in the afterward of his fierce longing for Maria- that his hearless heart would one day fall in love with a woman, and that she would break his heart. Poor Garbriel..how it happens to him. His utter devotion and desire for his Maria..he longed for her heart,her love, and how as a reader i love it in the way he fought for it. Gabriel Lancaster has become one of my favourite heroes of all time, he was willing to give up everything, even his life for Maria to be safe. He was a pride, waggish, honourable and fearless man..who only comes to live and breath his love for Maria. He is a ferocious force of a byronic hero, a man whose feelings are so passionate that he could destroy everyone around him.
